Hudson man charged with felony DWI following traffic stop

Greenport, New York – On December 24, 2015, New York State Police from the Livingston station arrested 31-year-old Raymond C. Hicks, of Hudson, New York, for Driving While Intoxicated, a Class D Felony, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 1st Degree, a Class E Felony, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, a Misdemeanor.

Hicks was stopped by police on County Route 14 for failing to stop at a stop sign. Hicks was found to be intoxicated at the time of the stop and in possession of a crack pipe.

Hicks was charged with Felony DWI when a criminal history revealed two previous DWI related convictions.

Hicks provided police with a breath sample that yielded a Blood Alcohol Content of .17%, more than two times the legal limit of intoxication.  Hicks was arraigned before the Town of Claverack Justice Court and remanded to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $30,000 bond.
