Rhinebeck man charged with assault

Rhinebeck, New York – On December 25, 2015, New York State Police from Rhinebeck arrested Antonio Houjaca, 36 years old, of Rhinebeck, New York, for Assault in the 3rd Degree and Menacing in the 2nd Degree, both Class A Misdemeanors.

On December 25, 2015, at approximately 1:26 a.m., Troopers were dispatched to a disturbance that occurred at a Village of Rhinebeck home.  Troopers interviewed the victim who reported that Houjaca punched him in the face causing a laceration above his eye.  The defendant then menaced the victim with a knife before he left the residence.

Houjaca was arraigned before the Village of Red Hook Justice Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 secured bond.  He is due to appear before the Village of Rhinebeck Court on January 7, 2016 at 4:30 p.m.
