Obituary, Mary Ann Latimer

 

Wingdale – Mary Ann Latimer, 71, of Wingdale, NY, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 13, 2015 at Vassar Brother Medical Center in Poughkeepsie.

Mary was born January 22, 1944 to Lydia Mae and Milton Latimer. She was one of thirteen children, having six sisters and six brothers.

Mary worked as a laundress and housekeeper for Harlem Valley Psychiatric Center in Wingdale, NY and Hudson River Psychiatric Center in Poughkeepsie, NY for a total of 31 years. She retired in June 1999.

She loved to shop, dance, listen to R&B and soul music, was a wonderful mother, sister, grandma and great grandma, and was always so full of life and laughter.

Mary is survived by her two sons, Walter McKellar and wife Laura Gorman of Wingdale, and Maxwell Latimer of Wingdale; four grandchildren, Lateisha McKellar of Dover Plains, Briana, Amber and Jocelyn McKellar of Wingdale; two great-grandchildren, Mya and Aubree Mahon of Dover Plains; her sisters, Lena and Rita Jane Latimer, Geraldine Layne, all of Poughkeepsie, and Esther, Ruth and Marie Latimer; her brothers, Jerry and Ray Latimer of Poughkeepsie, and Carl and Leroy Latimer; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is predeceased by one son, and her two brothers, Robert Latimer, and Milton Latimer Jr.
