Cold Spring Woman Faces DWI Charge

Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a Cold Spring woman on a charge of DWI.

On December 20, 2015 at 2:27 a.m., Deputy Sheriff Kevin Radovich responded to a report of a property damage auto accident on Canopus Hollow Road in the Town of Putnam Valley. Upon arrival, the deputy located a car that had been driven off the roadway into an earth embankment. The deputy determined that the driver, identified as Kathryn Comperatore, 41, of 175 Highland Road, Cold Spring was intoxicated. The deputy further determined that Ms. Comperatore held a suspended driver’s license. The deputy arrested Ms. Comperatore and charged her with Driving While Intoxicated and with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the Third Degree, misdemeanors, after the woman failed a series of standardized field sobriety tests. The defendant was processed at the Putnam County Correctional Facility and later released pending a January 16, 2015 appearance in the Town of Putnam Valley Justice Court to answer the charges.

If found guilty of the misdemeanor charge, the defendant could face up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.00.
