Jessie D. Hufcut, 93, of Marietta, GA formerly a longtime resident of Dover Plains, NY died on Sunday, November 29, 2015 at the Brittany House in Marietta, GA. Mrs. Hufcut was a registered nurse at Sharon Hospital in Sharon, CT.
Born on August 29, 1922 in Verbank, NY she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Eliza (Horton) Dunlavey. Mrs. Hufcut was a graduate of the Vassar School of Nursing in Poughkeepsie, NY class of 1943. She proudly served in the US Army during World War II. On May 12, 1946 in Dover Plains, NY she married E. Raymond Hufcut who predeceased her on December 14, 1994.
Mrs. Hufcut is survived by her three daughters, Jill Cherof and her husband, Michael, of Marietta, GA, Lisa Fritts and her husband, David, of Marietta, GA and Beth Anderson and her husband, Bill Al, of Sherman, CT. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Zachary and Matthew Taylor, Alexander Clark, Joshua and Carly Cherof and Lindsay Fritts and one great granddaughter, Lilly Raye Taylor. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Hufcut was predeceased by a daughter, Melissa Hufcut, one sister and four brothers.
Graveside services and burial will take place on at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 4, 2015 at the South Dover Rural Cemetery, Route 55, Wingdale, NY.
