State Police arrest former Poughkeepsie man following domestic incident

Wappinger, New York – On November 19, 2015, New York State Police from the Wappinger barracks arrested 41-year-old Jerun Allen, formerly of Poughkeepsie, New York, for Strangulation in the 2nd Degree, a Class D Felony.

On November 7, 2015 at approximately 4:01 p.m., Troopers were dispatched by Dutchess County 911 to a physical domestic dispute that occurred in the Town of Wappinger.  It was reported that Allen had physically assaulted a family member by choking him to the point of unconsciousness.  Prior to police arriving on scene, Allen fled the area.

An investigation revealed that Allen was scheduled to appear in East Fishkill Court on November 19th for an unrelated incident.  He was taken into custody at his court appearance and arraigned before the Town of East Fishkill Court later that evening.  Allen was remanded to the Dutchess County jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond.  He is due to appear in the Town of Wappinger Court on November 23, 2015.
