Cortlandt, New York – On November 19, 2015 at approximately 8:20 p.m., New York State Police from the Cortlandt barracks responded to a car/pedestrian collision that occurred on East Main Street in the area of Baker Street.

An investigation conducted by responding officers revealed that a 2007 Volvo operated by Mark Marmer, 66 years old, of Putnam Valley, was traveling eastbound on East Market Street.  An unidentified and uninvolved vehicle suddenly swerved in front of Marmer’s vehicle, cutting him off in an aggressive manner.  Marmer then observed a subject pushing a shopping cart in the roadway and was unable to avoid striking the pedestrian.  The pedestrian was later identified as 79-year-Old Allen Phillips of Mohegan Lake.

Phillips was transported to Westchester Medical Center by Mohegan Lake EMS and is listed in stable condition.

East Main Street was closed for several hours while New York State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit conducted an investigation.

It does not appear that alcohol or drug were contributing factor in this collision.
