State Police Monroe arrest two with counterfeit bills and drugs

PRESS RELEASE

On 10/29/15, State Police at Monroe arrested Kenneth Jenkins, 28 from Binghamton and Lakia Leonard, 26 from Endwell, NY after they were found in possession of drugs and counterfeit US Currency on State Route 17 in Blooming Grove.  Jenkins was charged with Criminal Possession of a Forgered Instrument 1st for possessing counterfeit $100 and $50 bills. Additionally he was charged with Unlawful Possession of Marihuana and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle.  Leonard was charged with Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 1st for the counterfeit curency as well as three counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd (Crack and MDMA), one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th (Fentanyl), Unlawful Possession of Marihuana and Tampering with Physical Evidence for trying to dispose of the drugs.  Both defendants were arraigned at the Town of Blooming Grove Court.  Jenkins was remanded to OCJ without bail.  Leonard was remanded to OCJ on $10,000 cash bail pending further court proceedings.
