Beacon man charged with unlawfully collecting unemployment benefits

PRESS RELEASE
Beacon, New York – On October 28, 2015, New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Wappinger barracks arrested 58-year-old Thomas T. Sims of Beacon, New York, for Grand Larceny 3rd Degree, a Class D Felony, and Falsifying Business Records 1st Degree, a Class E Felony.

The arrest is a result of a joint investigation conducted by the New York State Department of Labor Special Investigation Division and the New York State Police.

Sims is accused of unlawfully collecting over $3,300 worth of unemployment insurance benefits between March of 2013 and May of 2013, while gainfully employed.

Sims is scheduled to appear before the City of Beacon Court on October 29, 2015.
