Two Connecticut residents arrested following traffic stop in Amenia

Amenia, New York – On October 22, 2015, New York State Police from the Dover Plains barracks arrested 33-year-old Edgard Digirolamo, of Gaylordsville, Connecticut, for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, both Misdemeanors.
Troopers stopped Digirolamo on State Route 22 for failing to utilize a directional signal. Subsequent to an investigation conducted by the arresting officer, the defendant was found to be driving while impaired by drugs. He was also charged with possessing crack cocaine.
A State Police Drug Recognition Expert evaluated Digirolamo and confirmed that he was impaired at the time of the stop.
A passenger in the vehicle, Kerri J. Higgins, 35 years old, of Gaylordsville, was also charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, for possessing crack-cocaine.
Both parties were issued appearance tickets ordering them to appear before the Town of Amenia Court on October 27, 2015 at 7:00 p.m.
