State Police are seeking the public’s assistance to help solve 30-year-old missing persons case

Cortlandt, New York – New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Cortlandt barracks are seeking the public’s assistance to help solve a 30-year-old cold case involving a missing Montrose man, Richard Bayne.

A Montrose Veteran’s Hospital resident, Bayne was reported missing to the State Police in January of 1985. At the time of his disappearance, Bayne was 32 years old, weighed approximately 170 pounds and was 5’6” tall. Bayne, who also used the name Richard Bunn, is a white male with brown hair and blue eyes. Today, Bayne would be 62 years old.

Anyone with information regarding Bayne’s disappearance, is asked to contact the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation at the Cortlandt barracks by calling (914) 788-8044. Refer to SJS# 3855674.
