Peekskill woman charged with possessing stolen property

Cortlandt, New York – On September 28, 2015, New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Cortlandt barracks charged 29-years-old Elisha J. Sutton, of Peekskill, New York, with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th Degree, a Class E Felony.

In September of 2015, Troopers were dispatched to a Cortlandt residence to investigate the use of a stolen debit card.  Subsequent to an investigation conducted by police, it was discovered that Sutton took an acquaintances debit card while she stayed at his house overnight.  She used the victim’s credit card to make a purchase at a Cortlandt area gas station.

Further investigation revealed that Sutton was lodged at the Westchester County Jail for unrelated charges.  While incarcerated, Sutton was issued an appearance ticket ordering her to appear before the Town of Cortlandt Court on September 28, 2015.

On October 19, 2015, she was processed on the above charge and is scheduled to return to the Town of Cortlandt Court on a later date.
