Man arrested for assault with a sword

On 10/02/2015 The New York State Police at Catskill report the arrest of David M. Girard, age 46 of East Durham, NY for the charges of Assault in the second degree,  and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd, both class D Felonies.

Girard was arrested after the investigation into a physical altercation at 1355 State Route 145 East Durham NY in which Girard is alleged to have assaulted another male with a sword.  The victim was taken to Albany Medical Center where he was admitted.

Girard was arraigned before Town of Cairo Justice Miller and remanded to the Greene County Jail in lieu of $$25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond.

The State Police were assisted by the Town of Durham Police department.
