State Police arrest four in Cairo on drug charges

PRESS RELEASE

On 09/23/15, State Police executed a search warrant at 53 Lakes Mills Rd in Cairo. The warrant was issued by Greene County Court Judge, Terry Wilhelm after a three month long investigation conducted by the State Police, Greene County District Attorney’s Office, Town of Cairo Police, Greene County Sheriff’s Office, Capital District Drug Enforcement Task Force and New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision.

      The State Police Special Operations Response Team and Aviation Units were used during the entry.  State Police seized approximately 8 grams of Crack Cocaine, 17 grams of bulk heroin, and 166 additional bags of heroin along with a quantity of cash during the search. State Police estimate that the potential street value of the drugs would be approximately $15,000.00.
     The below subjects were charged as follows:
       Muhammad Muriel, age  37, of Bronx, N.Y. – Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd (B Felony).
       Furman Gilmore, age 42, of Cairo, N.Y. – Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd (B Felony).
       Michael Richardson, age 38, of Cairo, N.Y. – Criminal Nuisance 1st(E Felony), Endangering The Welfare of a Child and Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia 2nd(A Misdemeanors).
       Jessica Richardson, age 30, of Cairo, N.Y. – Endangering The Welfare of a Child and Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia 2nd (A Misdemeanors)
       Muriel, Gilmore and Michael Richardson were arraigned before T/J Leland Miller in the Town of Cairo Court. Gilmore was committed to the Greene County Jail with no bail. Muriel was commtted to the Greene County Jail in lieu of $200,000.00 cash or $400,000.00 bond. Michael Richardson was committed with no bail. Jessica Richardson was issued an Appearance Ticket to appear at a later date.
