Obituary, Charles Joseph (Chuck) Noone, Sr.

 

Charles Joseph (Chuck) Noone, Sr., 80, of Pawling, N.Y., died Monday, Sept. 21, 2015, at his home following a lengthy illness.
Born Sept. 1, 1935, in Wilkes Barre, he was the son of Timothy S. and Helen (Reedy) Noone. On Feb. 14, 1998, in Bradford, he married Helen W. Hale, who passed away Nov. 12, 2012.
Mr. Noone served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He had resided most of his life in Niagara Falls, N.Y. and was a graduate of Bishop Duffy Catholic High School in Niagara Falls. Mr. Noone spent 23 years in the Niagara Falls Fire Department, and retired as Senior Captain. He also was a 1974 graduate of the State University of New York, majoring in nursing. For three years, Mr. Noone was a nurse at Niagara Falls Medical Center and for eight years nursed in Norfolk Virginia General Hospital. For the next three years, he was a nurse in the Humana Hospital in Virginia Beach, Va. Moving to New York, he spent the next three years at Noyes Hospital in Dansville as a nurse. For eight years he was the director of surgical services at Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville, and for many years he was in service educator at Bradford Regional Hospital, retiring in June 1998. He was a member on the Mt. Jewett, Pa. United Methodist Church and a member of the AORN.
He is survived by three sons, Charles Joseph Noone, Jr. (Mary) of Kingston, N.Y., Mark Steven Noone (Dorothy) of Duncan, S.C., Erin Patrick Noone (Ronell) of Afton, N.Y.; two daughters, Donna Marie Zublin (David) of Pawling, N.Y. Ellen Constance Marsh (Wade) of Mexico, N.Y.; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandson; and four step-children.
A graveside service will be held at the Knoxville Riverside Cemetery, Knoxville, on Friday, Sept. 25, at 12:30 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of the Horn & Thomes, Inc. Funeral Home, 83 East Main St., Pawling, N.Y. .
