Peekskill man arrested for Felony DWI

PRESS RELEASE
Philipstown, New York – On August 30, 2015, New York State Police from the Cortlandt barracks arrested Edgar R. Merchan, 38 years old, of Peekskill, New York, for Driving While Intoxicated, a Class E Felony.

Troopers were dispatched to an erratic vehicle complaint on Route 9 in Philipstown.  Troopers located the vehicle described by the caller in a gas station parking lot. Following an interview conducted by the investigating Trooper, Merchan was found to be intoxicated and placed under arrest.

Merchan provided a breath sample that revealed a Blood Alcohol Content of .08% and was issued traffic tickets directing him to appear before the Town of Philipstown Court on September 9, 2015.

Merchan was charged with Felony DWI when it was discovered that he was convicted of a DWI related offense in May of 2010.
