Poughkeepsie man arrested following Department of Labor investigation

Poughkeepsie, New York – On August 24, 2015, the New York State Police in Rhinebeck arrested 31-year-old Damion L. Celestine of Poughkeepsie, New York, for Falsifying Business Records 1st Degree, a Class E-Felony.
Celestine had caused false entries to be made in the business records of the New York State Department of Labor by certifying weekly that he was totally unemployed when in fact he was gainfully employed. The weekly false certifications enabled Celestine to collect over $6,200 in US Currency of which he was not entitled.
Celestine was released on an appearance ticket and is to appear before the City of Poughkeepsie Court on September 11, 2015 at 9:00 a.m.
