Assault and Endangering the Welfare of a Child Arrest

On August 10, 2015 the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation at SP Kingston arrested MATTHEW SMITH age 25 of Ulster, NY for Assault 3rd Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

On August 10, 2015 uniform members from the New York State Police responded to a reported domestic dispute at a home in the Town of Ulster. Investigation revealed that SMITH punched and slapped a female at the residence causing swelling to her eye and an abrasion to her lip. Two children, age 6 and 7 were in the residence at the time and witnessed SMITH striking the female.

SMITH was charged with Assault 3rd Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, both misdemeanors. SMITH was released with an appearance ticket to appear in the Town of Ulster Court on August 18, 2015.
