White Plains man charged with unlawfully collecting unemployment benefits

White Plains, New York – On July 31, 2015, New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Hawthorne barracks arrested Federico Shephard, age 48, of White Plains New York, for Offering a False Instrument for Filing 1st Degree, a Class E Felony.

The arrest stemmed from a complaint received from the New York State Department of Labor Special Investigation Division that alleged Shephard unlawfully collected over $9,800 in unemployment insurance benefits while he was gainfully employed. The false statements occurred between February 6, 2012 and July 8, 2012.

Shephard was issued an Appearance Ticket directing him to appear in the City of White Plains Court on August 17, 2015.
