Poughkeepsie, New York – On July 27, 2015, New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Poughkeepsie barracks charged 26-year-old Joseph M. Milone of Hyde Park, New York, with Forgery 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th Degree and Identity Theft 3rd Degree following a credit card fraud complaint reported to police in May of 2015.

Troopers interviewed a Town of Washington woman who reported that her credit card and a cell phone were taken from her vehicle while it was parked at a Town of LaGrange restaurant.  The victim also advised police that she discovered several fraudulent purchases were made on her credit card in the City of Poughkeepsie.

Subsequent investigation revealed that Milone forged the victim’s signature and made the unauthorized purchases, assuming her identity.

Milone was currently incarcerated at the Dutchess County Jail on unrelated charges.  He is scheduled to appear before the City of Poughkeepsie Court on August 3, 2015.
