Obituary, Debra Wood Enright

 

 

Debra Wood Enright, 53, passed away on July 6th at Putnam Hospital Center surrounded by her loved ones.

Beloved daughter of the late John, aka ‘Jack’, Wood who passed away in January 2009 and Gloria Wood, her mother, who survives at home. Debra is also survived by her loving sister, Laura Wood Mancuso, and husband, Donald, and their children, William and Gloria, who live in Framingham, MA and devoted brother, Robert Wood, and his wife, Traci, and sons, Peyton and Jack McKenna Wood, who reside in Crystal Lake, IL. Debra will be missed by many cousins, aunts, and uncles in California, North Carolina, Connecticut, Germany, and West Virginia, and her fiancé, Richard Griffeth, all of whom she loved dearly.

Debbie was the middle child and grew up in Pawling. She graduated from New England College and then pursued and graduated, with honors, a degree in Occupational Therapy. She always derived the most pleasure from working with children with special needs and had many close relationships with them for many years.

Debra was a cancer survivor and after completing rigorous treatments, was declared cancer free in 2000. She went on to encourage other cancer victims until very recently.

She will always be remembered for her love of animals, travelling, needlepoint, and her friends and family, especially her niece and nephews, and her selflessness. “Our lives are fuller… Because we had you in our lives.”

Eyes have not seen, nor ear heard, the joy that
Awaits those who love Him.

Visitation will be at Horn & Thomes, Inc. Funeral Home, 83 E. Main St., Pawling Sunday, July 12th from 3-7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John’s Church, E. Main St., Pawling on Monday, July 13th at 11am.
