RHINEBECK – A Clinton Corners man killed in an apparent hit-and-run incident in Rhinebeck was identified Tuesday as Dylan Feller, 20, of Clinton Corners.
The Dutchess County Sheriff’s office believes Feller was clinging to a vehicle as it drove on Livingston Street at about 3:50 p.m. Monday, and “at some point, he fell from the vehicle and was then struck by it.”
The vehicle believed to be involved was gone by the time first responders or police arrived .
Feller was taken to Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck, where he was pronounced dead and no arrest had been made as of early Tuesday.
In a press release the sheriff”s department said, “Circumstances surrounding this incident are still developing and more information may be provided as it becomes available.”
A press release issued Monday night by the Sheriff’s Office made no mention of authorities believing the death was intentional, but it included this statement: “There is not believed to be any type of threat to public safety.”
