Ellenville man arrested for Menacing and Criminal Possession of a Weapon

PRESS RELEASE

  The New York State Police at Ellenville announce the arrest of Christopher D. Briggs, a 24 year old from Ellenville, New York for Menacing 2nd and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th, a Misdemeanor’s.
On July 2, 2015 Members of SP Ellenville responded to Clay Hill Road in the Town of Wawarsing for a domestic dispute. While Members were investigating the domestic dispute, Christopher D. Briggs arrived at the residence to assist one of the subjects leave the residence. While Briggs was at the residence he became involved in a verbal altercation with one of the occupants at the residence. The verbal argument became physical and Briggs threatened this occupant at the residence with a six inch kitchen knife.
Christopher D. Briggs was immediately taken into custody and transported to SP Ellenville where he was processed for Menacing 2nd and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th. Briggs was arraigned in front of Town of Wawarsing, Town Justice Wayne Lonstein who remanded Briggs to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $1500.00 cash or $3000.00 certified bond. Briggs is to reappear in the Town of Wawarsing Court on 07/10/15 at 8:30 a.m.
