Obituary, George and Sandy Brown

 

 

George (60) and Sandy Brown (51) of Welaka, Florida passed away on June 19th, 2015 as a result of a tragic car accident. A Memorial service in their honor will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, July 3rd at Tomoka Christian Church 1450 Hand Ave., Ormond Beach, Florida. A small reception is to follow in the Church Cafe. George was born on April 27, 1955 to Turner Brown and Jean Ellen Brown (Mc Allister). George graduated from Dover Jr. Sr. High School in Dover Plains, N.Y. George worked at Harlem Valley in Wingdale, N.Y. and in home health care programs. George is survived by his brother Dale Brown of New York. Sandy Brown (Mayville) was born on June 16, 1964 to Gary L. Mayville Sr. and Janet R. Mayville (Debyah). Sandy graduated from Pawling High school in Pawling, N.Y.

Sandy worked at Harlem Valley in Wingdale, N.Y. and the Dollar General in Ormond Beach and Pomona Park. Sandy is survived by her mother, Janet Mayville, sister Debbie Hoag (Jerry), brother Gary Mayville Jr., all of Crescent City, Florida and brother Darrell Wood (Leslie) of upstate New York. Sandy is pre-deceased by two brother’s, Gordon and Dale Wood. Both are survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. George and Sandy were married on August 5th, 1989. They are also survived by their two children Jonathan Brown and Allison Brown, both of Ormond Beach, FL. The Brown family relocated to Florida from New York in 2002. George and Sandy moved to Welaka in 2014. George loved music and had a gift of playing guitar. He enjoyed playing locally. George also loved to hunt. Sandy had a heart for children and giving. She volunteered at Ormond Beach Elementary. Together George and Sandy enjoyed camping and boating especially in Upstate New York.
