Albert C. Long, III, passed away at his home in Wingdale, NY on Sat., June 20, 2015; he was 54.

Born in Springfield, MA on December 7, 1960, he was the son of the late Albert C. Long, Jr. and Sophia (Spivey) Long of Dover Plains, NY. Albert graduated from Dover High School in 1977 and served in the US Marine Corps in the Persian Gulf; he also served in the US Army Reserve at Camp Smith. He had worked as a foreman for Almstead Tree Service in New Rochelle, NY.

Albert has lived in Wingdale for 20 years, coming from the Dover Plains, NY area; he was an avid reader, and an avid Rolling Stones and Dallas Cowboys fan. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and camping, and collecting and repairing guns and rifles.

In addition to his mother, Albert is survived by his brother Kenneth Long of Dover Plains, NY and sister Gwendolyn (Martin) Pruner, also of Dover Plains; his niece Jessica Long of Carmel, NY and nephew Kenneth Long Jr. of Dover Plains, NY; and his God Daughter Chevelle Sampson of Catskill, NY.

Family and friends may call at the Horn & Thomes, Inc. Funeral Home, 83 East Main Street, Pawling, Thursday, June 25th from 2-6 PM, with a funeral service at the funeral home at 5:30 PM. Burial will be on Friday at the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY.
