Synagogue worker arrested for assault

PRESS RELEASE

The New York State Police in Monroe arrested Jae Kyung Lee (56) of Monroe for assault in the second degree.  Lee, a janitor in a synagogue on VanBuren Road in the Village of Kiryas Joel,  stabbed a 35 year old Kiryas Joel resident in the upper leg with a small screwdriver type object causing a small puncture wound while both were in the synagogue.  Lee was additionally charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.  He is currently awaiting arraignment in the Town of Monroe Court.
