Three Teens Arrested During Residential Burglary

Poughkeepsie…The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of three (3) teens in connection with a residential burglary that occurred at a residence in the Town of Pine Plains at approximately 12:45 pm on 6/14/15.

On the above date and time Patrol Deputies and Detectives responded to 41 Hoffman Rd in Pine Plains for a report of a burglary in progress, with the suspects possibly still on the scene. Upon arrival all three suspects were quickly located and taken into custody, and further investigation showed that they were allegedly stealing items from the house bringing them to a nearby vehicle. The three suspects are identified as follows:

Zachary S. Dam, age 18 of Gallatin NY	Amanda M. Jochum, age 16 of Red Hook NY	Bryce A. Hay, age 18 of Pine Plains NY

All three suspects have been charged with Burglary in the 2nd degree, which is a felony. After being processed, they were arraigned before the Town of Milan Court and bail was set for all of them at $1,000 cash or $3,000 bond. Dam and Jochum were then remanded to the Dutchess County Jail, and Hay posted bail at the court and was released. The investigation is continuing, and the Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office and the State Police.

As with any criminal case, the charges described above are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
