Pleasant Valley woman charged with Grand Larceny

Pleasant Valley, New York – On June 13, 2015, New York State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks arrested Katherine M. Hernandez, 47 years old, of Pleasant Valley, New York, for Grand Larceny 4th Degree, a Class E Felony.

On June 13, 2015, Troopers were dispatched to St. Stanislaus Church to investigate the larceny of a purse.  The complainant reports that during evening mass, she went to receive Holy Communion.  When she returned to her pew, she noticed that her handbag had been stolen.

Following an investigation conducted by the responding Trooper it was discovered that Hernandez had taken the victim’s handbag during communion.

Hernandez was arraigned before the Town of LaGrange Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond.  Hernandez is scheduled to appear before the Town of Pleasant Valley Court on June 18, 2015.

The State Police were assisted by the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office.
