White Plains woman arrested for unlawfully collecting unemployment benefits

White Plains, New York – On June 13, 2015, New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from Hawthorne arrested Angela Lillard, age 47, of White Plains, N.Y., for Offering a False Instrument for Filing 1st Degree, A Class E Felony.

The arrest is the result of a joint investigation conducted by the New York State Department of Labor Special Investigation Division and the New York State Police.

Lillard is accused of unlawfully collected over $12,000 in unemployment insurance benefits between September of 2011 and April of 2012.  False business records were generated by Lillard when she certified weekly that she was totally unemployed when in fact she was gainfully employed.

Lillard was issued an appearance ticket directing her to appear before the City of White Plains Court on July 1, 2015.
