Downstate Correctional Facility inmate charged with possessing dangerous contraband

Fishkill, New York – On June 9, 2015, New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Wappinger Barracks arrested Hasean Banks, 19 years old, an inmate at Downstate Correctional Facility, for Promoting Prison Contraband 1st Degree, a Class D Felony.
On March 29, 2015, the New York State Police was notified by the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision that Banks was found in possession of a metal cutting instrument inside Downstate Correctional Facility.
Banks was arraigned before the Town of Fishkill Court, and he was returned to Downstate Correctional Facility. He is scheduled to return to Fishkill Court on
July 14, 2015 at 9:00 a.m.
The New York State Police were assisted by NYS DOCCS.
