Wappinger man arrested for driving while intoxicated

Wappinger, New York – On June 2, 2015, New York State Police from the Wappinger barracks arrested Joe Bonjovey, 46 years old, of Wappinger, New York, for Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1st Degree, a Class E Felony.

Dutchess County 911 received a call regarding a motor vehicle being operated northbound in the southbound lanes of State Route 9, just north of Old Hopewell Road.  Troopers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop in the Hannaford Supermarket parking lot.  Bonjovey, the driver of the vehicle, was found to be intoxicated at the time of the stop.

Bonjovey was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1st Degree after investigation revealed that his New York State driving privileges were revoked due to a 2009 DWAI conviction.

Bonjovey was issued traffic tickets directing him to appear before the Town of Wappinger Court on June 16, 2015 at 5:30 p.m.
