Monticello woman arrested for identity theft

Rhinebeck, New York – On June 2, 2015, New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Rhinebeck barracks arrested Sara A. Bruggemann, 23 years old, of Monticello, New York, for Identity Theft 2nd Degree, a Class E Felony.

On May 21, 2015, Troopers were dispatched to a Rhinebeck residence for a fraud complaint.  An investigation revealed that Bruggemann had stolen a family member’s credit card information and impersonated that family member when she made approximately 22 unauthorized purchases. An estimated $1,100 in purchases were made between April and May of 2015.

Bruggemann was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Hyde Park Court on June 9, 2015 at 5:00 p.m.
