Poughkeepsie man charged with Felony Driving While Intoxicated under Leandra’s Law

PRESS RELEASE
Pleasant Valley, New York – On May 30, 2015, New York State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks arrested Kelvin G. Bennett, 60 years old, of Poughkeepsie, New York, for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, under Leandra’s Law, a Class E Felony.Troopers stopped a vehicle traveling on Route 44 for speeding. Bennett, the driver of the vehicle, was intoxicated at the time of the stop. Bennett was charged with Felony DWI under Leandra’s Law for having a passenger under the age of 16 in the vehicle.

Bennett provided a breath sample that revealed a Blood Alcohol Content of .13%.  He was issued traffic tickets directing him to appear before the Pleasant Valley Court on June 4, 2015 at 5:00 p.m.
