Peekskill man charged with Assault following physical altercation

Southeast, New York – On May 23, 2015, New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Brewster barracks arrested Robert A. Petrocine, 24 years old, of Peekskill, New York, for Assault 2nd Degree, a Class D Felony, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor.On May 23, 2015, Troopers were dispatched by Putnam County 911 to the parking area of the Bull and Barrel Restaurant located on State Route 22 for a physical dispute.  Prior to police arriving on scene, they were advised by 911 that one of the subjects involved in the altercation had been stabbed and that the suspect had fled the location in a red Jeep.

Police officers from the Village of Brewster Police Department were responding to the establishment to assist when they observed a red Jeep on State Route 22.  The officers stopped the Jeep and interviewed the occupants.  The passenger of the Jeep, identified as Petrocine, was taken into custody without incident.

An investigation conducted by responding Troopers revealed that Petrocine had stabbed a 25-year-old Brewster man in the arm following a physical altercation.

The victim was transported to Putnam Hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The State Police were assisted by the Village of Brewster Police Department, the Brewster Fire Department and Trans-care Paramedics.

Petrocine was arraigned before the Town of Patterson Court where he was remanded to the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $100,000 cash bail or $200,000 bond.  He is scheduled to re-appear before the Town of Southeast Court on May 29, 2015 at 2:00 p.m.
