Dutchess County remembers its fallen heroes
“On this Memorial Day, let us never forget the valiant men and women who lost their lives to protect ours. While many celebrate this day with a barbeque or a day at the beach, we must always be mindful the freedom to pursue those fun endeavors comes at a cost: the supreme sacrifice so many of our servicemembers have made over the years.
“I encourage all Dutchess County residents to reflect today on what makes America great, and just as importantly, the courageous heroes who made this nation what it is today. Whether at a parade, a local gathering or even just a moment of silent tribute, please take the time to ponder the true meaning of Memorial Day and remember our fallen brothers and sisters who cannot celebrate with us today.”
Illumination of the Walkway

Join us at the Flag Pole in the center of the
Walkway Over the Hudson for a sunset vigil.
Bring flashlights, glow sticks or other non-flammable items to “Illuminate” at dusk.
Dutchess County War Memorial Ceremony
Monday, May 25, 2015 at 11 a.m.
Join us for this annual event at the John K. Rinaldi Memorial Park
located at the intersection of Raymond Avenue and Main Street in the Town of Poughkeepsie
