East Fishkill, New York – On May 16, 2015, New York State Police from the Stormville barracks arrested Benjamin J. VanKeuren, 24 years old, of Clinton Corners, New York, for Reckless Driving, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 3rd Degree, and several vehicle and traffic law violations.

VanKeuren’s arrest occurred after Troopers observed the motorcycle he was operating traveling on the Taconic State Parkway at a high rate of speed. When the Trooper activated emergency lights and siren, VanKeuren quickly accelerated to over 120 miles an hour and failed to stop for police.

The Trooper de-activated his emergency lights, but continued to follow the motorcycle from a safer distance and speed.  VanKeuren did stop for police at the Todd Hill Road rest area.

Investigation revealed that VanKeuren was operating the motorcycle despite having a revoked New York State driver’s license.  It was also discovered that the motorcycle he was operating was unregistered and uninsured.

VanKeuren was arraigned before the Town of East Fishkill Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $2,000 cash bail or $4,000 bond.   He is scheduled to return to the East Fishkill Court on June 3, 2015
