Hillsdale woman charged with animal neglect

PRESS RELEASE
Hillsdale, New York – On May 14, 2015, the New York State Police in Livingston, NY commenced an investigation into allegations of possible animal neglect in the Town of Hillsdale.Troopers located the farm where the animals were being kept and determined that 10 horses and 3 calves were unhealthy and not being properly cared for.  Troopers Nicole VanHoesen and Jeremy Proper arrested Marjorie E. Hansen, age 58, of Hillsdale for 13 counts of failing to provide sustenance pursuant to New York State Agriculture and Markets Law.

Hansen was arraigned in the Town of Hillsdale Court and was ordered to reappear on May 20, 2015.

The animals are currently being cared for and supervised by the Columbia-Greene ASPCA.
