Amenia – Adeline B. “Goldie” Foley, 93, a longtime resident of Amenia, NY died on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at her home in Amenia, NY. Mrs. Foley was a payroll supervisor at Wassaic Developmental Center for 33 years retiring in 1977.

Born on October 16, 1921 in Hyde Park, NY she was the daughter of the late John W. Golden, Sr. and Louise (Traudt) Golden. Mrs. Foley graduated from Staatsburg High School Class of 1939 and later graduated from Poughkeepsie Business Institute class of 1941. She worked as a payroll supervisor at Wassaic Developmental Center where she met her husband, John Foley who predeceased her on April 1, 1966. They married On October 14, 1944 in Amenia, NY .

Mrs. Foley was an avid golfer in the women’s leagues at the Hotchkiss Golf Course, Undermountain Golf Course, Beekman Country Club and Harlem Valley Golf Club. She was an avid bowler and played in the women’s league at Mabbettsville, Great Barrington and Poughkeepsie. Another passion of hers was dancing and traveling with friends. Mrs. Foley was also a member of the Amenia Fire Company Auxillary.

Mrs. Foley is survived by her son Thomas J. Foley and his wife, Christine of Troy, NY; a brother, John Golden, Jr. of Hyde Park, NY and a sister, Gwendolyn Cookingham in Hyde Park, NY. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Courtney Moore (John) and Carey Bielawa (Jerid). In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Foley was predeceased by a sister, Isabelle Seagren.

Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, May 18, 2015 at , 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at the funeral home with Rev. Betsy Fisher officiating. Burial will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Amenia, NY. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Amenia Fire Company, 36 Mechanic Street, Amenia, NY 12501.
