Wappinger woman charged with Aggravated DWI

Putnam Valley, New York – On May 9, 2015, New York State Police from the Stormville barracks arrested Alyson Smith, 43 years old, of Wappinger, New York, for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor.

Smith was stopped by Troopers on the Taconic State Parkway for failure to maintain her lane of travel and for throwing a cigarette butt out of the window of her vehicle.  Subsequent investigation revealed that Smith was intoxicated at the time of the stop.

Smith provided a breath sample that produced a Blood Alcohol Content of .20%, more than 2 times the legal limit of intoxication.  She was issued traffic tickets ordering her to appear before the Town of Putnam Valley Court on May 21, 2015.
