Poughkeepsie woman arrested for Larceny

Millbrook, New York – On May 8, 2015, New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Poughkeepsie barracks charged 55-year-old Christina M. Ruhmshottel of the Town of Poughkeepsie with Grand Larceny 4th Degree and Falsifying Business Records 1st Degree, Class E Felonies.

On March 31, 2015, Troopers were dispatched to the Taconic Developmental Disabilities Services Office on Nine Partners Lane to investigate a larceny complaint.

Staff at the facility discovered that between June of 2014 and March of 2015, an employee had stolen approximately $1,500 from the facilities residents’ by falsifying business documents. Following an investigation conducted by the State Police and staff at Taconic DDSO, it was discovered that Ruhmshottel pilfered money from state issued checks that was intended for the resident’s spending accounts.

Ruhmshottel was arrested at the State Police barracks in Salt Point and issued an appearance ticket directing her to appear before the Town of Washington Court on May 26, 2015 at 5:00 p.m.
