Pawling Rotary to Honor Richard Harshbarger at 12th Annual Golf Outing

By Susan Stone

The 12th Annual Rotary Golf Outing will take place on Monday, May 20, 2024 at the spectacular Quaker Hill Country Club, where Richard Harshbarger will be the event honoree. Richard has served as club president, is currently a member of the Rotary board, and serves as a committee chair on several Rotary initiatives. His leadership has been invaluable, and the club has been privileged to count him among its membership for almost twenty years. Richard is committed to “Service Above Self,” and his support for Pawling’s youth has been significant.

Proceeds from this fundraising event will support the many educational and youth leadership programs supported by Rotary that benefit Pawling’s youth, including the Roger Smith-Pawling Rotary College Scholarship Program, Interact Club of Pawling, R.Y.L.A. Youth Leadership Conference, the annual donation of dictionaries to third graders in Pawling’s public and private schools, and scholarships for disadvantaged students in Pawling Recreation’s after-school and camp programs.

All are invited to join Rotarians at noon on Monday, May 20th as the outing gets underway with registration and lunch from 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. Shotgun start time will be at 1:00 p.m. As in previous years, golfing will be a scramble format and the fee is $200.00 per golfer, which includes a day on the links with golf cart, lunch, and dinner. Prizes for the day’s golfing achievements on the course will be awarded during dinner. Dinner without golfing, for community members who wish to join the festivities later in the day, will be available at $75.00. Call John Ammaturo at 845 656-4707 for reservations.
