No injuries or damage reported to Duchess County 911

The effects of a 4.8 magnitude earthquake, originating near Whitehouse Station, New Jersey, were felt across the Hudson Valley and beyond this morning, including here in Dutchess County.

At this time, there have been no injuries or damage throughout the county reported to the 911 Communications Center.

Dutchess County Executive Sue Serino has been coordinating with Dutchess County Emergency Response to monitor the situation. DCER has been in contact with state and federal authorities, as well as communicating with local municipalities. Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, as well Dutchess County Public Works and other County departments, have been assessing roadways, buildings and other infrastructure for any possible damage.
