John D. Nolan Sr.
           December 8, 1938 – February 28, 2024
John D. Nolan Sr., 85 of Chateaugay New York formerly of Amenia, New York passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, peacefully at his home with the aid of Hospice of the North County.
Born December 8, 1938 in Montreal, Quebec Canada, he was the son of John and Irene (Gallagher) Nolan.
He married Nancy Venette on July 14, 2001 in Chateaugay, New York.
John worked at Wassaic State School as a Therapy Aide for 20 years.   After relocating to the North County John worked at Battat in Plattsburgh, New York until his retirement.  John served in The United States Army 82nd Airborne, and was Honorably discharged in 1963.
John enjoyed spending time with his family and watching his favorite television shows, Andy Griffith and Gun Smoke.  He also looked forward to every Monday and Friday evenings to watch wrestling.
John is survived by his wife Nancy of 22 years.  His two daughters Carol Nolan-Corrow (Doug) and Jodi Miller.  His son John Nolan Jr. (Tracy).  5 stepdaughters Tina LaValley (Randy), Toni Shanty (Tom), Star Bashaw, Trudy Blair, and Shasta LaBombard.  15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, a brother Donald of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and nephews.  His first wife Betty-Ann Wilbur.
He is predeceased by his parents, two brothers Jimmy and Frankie, a sister Irene, stepson Dana Favreau, a son in law George Ball and daughter in law Marge Sitter.
A graveside service will be held in Eastside Cemetery in the spring and will be announced at that time.
