Obituary, Amy F. Snowdon

Amy F. Snowdon, a life-time resident of Pawling, NY passed away February 22, 2024 at Hudson Valley Hospice House, Hyde Park, NY surrounded by her loving family. Amy had just recently celebrated her 100th birthday.

Born in Pawling on February 5,1924, she was the daughter of George W. and Daisy (Mcduffy) Osborn.  Amy grew up in Pawling and attended Pawling schools. She married the late Harris R. Snowdon in Pawling on March 25, 1945 and that is where they  raised their six children.

Amy worked many years and retired from the Pawling Elementary School where she worked in the cafeteria.

Amy’s favorite pastimes were reading and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her son, Dale and wife Marcia of Pawling and her daughters Faith Phillips, also of Pawling, Nancy Masten and husband Steve of Poughkeepsie, and April Mulkins of Dover Plains; grandchildren Sarah (Dave) Tompkins of Wingdale, Jonathan (Dawn) Snowdon of Poughquag, Katie (Billy) Gasperetti of Walden, Melissa (Raymond) Pifer of Poughkeepsie, Stephen Masten, Jr. of Wappingers, Matthew Masten of Alabama, and Michael Mulkins, Jr. of Dover Plains; great-grandchildren Tyler, Hayden, Maddie, Brianna, Avery, Brayden, Reid, Taylor, Logan, Austin, Colton, Grayson, Tanner, Sloane, Emily, Cole, and Cash; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to her husband, Harris, and her parents, Amy is predeceased by her two brothers and three sisters.

There will be a graveside service on Monday, February 26th at 11 AM at the Pawling Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hudson Valley Hospice House, 342 Violet Avenue, Hyde Park, NY 12538.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Horn & Thomes, Inc Funeral Home, 83 East Main Street, Pawling, NY.
