Sheriff announces accomplishments for 2023

Dutchess County Sheriff Kirk Imperati is pleased to announce the following achievements attained by the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office in 2023: 

  • Implemented body-worn cameras
  • Hired three new Sheriff’s Aides
  • Implemented a dedicated Domestic Violence Unit
  • Hired a Behavioral Health Specialist, to assist both the public and Sheriff’s Office members
  • Implemented Project Lifesaver to better serve those with special needs
  • Expanded the School Resource Officer Program
  • Reestablished the Child ID Program
  • Generated approximately $5,000,000 from fees and reimbursements
  • Implemented the Community Resource Officer Program
  • Was granted re-accreditation status in both the Law Enforcement and Corrections Divisions
  • Expanded the Unmanned Aerial Support Unit (drones)
  • Held a law enforcement academy and graduation
  • Handled an increase in calls for service by 11,000 calls
  • Enhanced our participation in the Flock Safety system
  • Continued training for the new Justice and Transition Center 

Sheriff Imperati is extremely proud of the men and women at the Sheriff’s Office and all that they were able to accomplish last year, and looks forward to even more achievements in 2024 and beyond.
