Wanted Subject Charged After Accident Investigation

The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of Julian M. Muhlemann, age 25 of NYC, for various offenses stemming from the investigation into an auto accident on 2/9/24.

On 2/9/24 at approximately 6:25 am Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Route 55 near the McDonald’s restaurant in LaGrange for a report of a crash. After further interview and investigation Mr. Muhlemann was identified as being involved, and was allegedly found to be in possession of various types of pills. Deputies then attempted to place Mr. Muhlemann under arrest, at which time he physically resisted arrest but was eventually taken into custody.

At this time Mr. Muhlemann has been charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree, resisting arrest, and obstructing governmental administration (all misdemeanors). After being processed Mr. Muhlemann was released on appearance tickets returnable to the Town of LaGrange Court on 3/6/24, before ultimately being turned over to the New York State Police on a warrant.

As with any criminal case the charges described above are merely accusations and Mr. Muhlemann is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
