Shannan Ashly Mead, 34, of Wingdale, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 14th, 2024, in Waterbury, CT.
Born in Danbury, CT on November 8th, 1989, she was the daughter of Donna (O’Creene) Harden of New Milford, CT, and James Bryer of Gaylordsville, CT. Shannan was a graduate of Dover High School where she was a member of the volleyball, softball, and cheerleading teams. Shannan has worked at several local restaurants bartending and catering, where her exceptional people skills and love for those around her was able to shine. She cared deeply for her family and friends and was always finding unique ways to express her love. Above all else, she loved being a mom to her son. Supporting him in every way she could, specifically in his love for baseball, she spent several years being actively involved with the Dover Plains Little League Baseball Association.
On June 18th, 2010, Shannan married Shawn Mead in Elizabethtown, KY who survives at home. In addition to her parents and husband, Shannan is survived by her son, Sylus Mead. She is also survived by her sister, Brianna Wool and brother-in-law, Joe; her brother, Brandon Bryer and his wife, Ashley; her two grandfathers, Victor O’Creene Sr. and Richard Lake; her mother and father-in-law, Karen and Brian Mead; and many nieces and nephews. Shannan was predeceased by her son; Sawyer Miles Mead, her stepfather, Brian Scott Harden; and her two grandmothers, Geraldine Harden and Judith Lake.
Calling hours will take place from 4 to 6PM on Thursday, January 25th, 2024, at the Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY.
