Pine Plains Woman Faces Multiple Charges:

On Friday December 29th at approximately 10:50 AM Red Hook Police conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle operating without insurance in the parking lot of Stewart’s south. The driver of the vehicle, later identified as Sandra M. Brown, 52 of Pine Plains failed to comply with officers once explained why she was being stopped. She fled the traffic stop out of the parking lot northbound on South Broadway. A second marked patrol unit responding to the scene was able to assist in stopping the fleeing vehicle on South Broadway near Firehouse Lane. Officers attempted to take Brown into custody but she put her vehicle in reverse, struck a patrol vehicle and again fled northbound on South Broadway. As Brown attempted to cut through the Extra Mart parking lot to avoid traffic, patrols were able to box her vehicle in and subsequently take her into custody. She was charged with reckless endangerment, reckless driving, unlawful fleeing a police officer, and resisting arrest, all misdemeanors, as well as numerous traffic infractions. Sandra was processed and released on tickets with a future court date . Red Hook Police were assisted on scene by the New York State Police.
