Fatal crash on the Taconic State Parkway

East Fishkill, New York – On December 18, 2023, the New York State Police and the East Fishkill Police Department began investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash involving a police vehicle.

At approximately 6:03 p.m., an East Fishkill Police vehicle on the Taconic State Parkway was en route to Westchester Medical Center to continue a car versus pedestrian crash investigation with serious injuries that occurred near the East Fishkill Police station.  The patrol vehicle left the roadway in the area of mile marker 36.2 and struck a tree.  The officer operating the vehicle and sole occupant, was transported to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
