Marie J. Chiappa, 85, a longtime resident of Wingdale, NY, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at Danbury Hospital in Danbury, CT. Mrs. Chiappa was a Claims Representative at the Daniels Agency in Pawling, NY prior to her retirement.
Born on March 26, 1938 in Yonkers, NY, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Josephine (Zemba) Yonnetti. On November 17, 1963, in Yonkers, she married Bruno Chiappa who predeceased her on June 12, 2004. Mrs. Chiappa was a longtime parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Church in Dover Plains.
Mrs. Chiappa is survived by her loving daughter, Dina Marie Yeno and her husband, Richard, of Dover Plains; a sister, Jo-Ann Ward, and her husband Doug of Rhinebeck and two grandchildren, Danielle and Chelsea Yeno. She is also survived by Sisters-in-law and Brothers-in-law Dianna and Bill Morange, Rita and Robert Chiappa, her Aunt Barbara Zemba, several cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Allen Yonnetti.
Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, November 13, 2023, at the Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY. Funeral services will occur at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at the funeral home with Rev. R. Kent Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at St. Charles Cemetery in Dover Plains.
